Pathfinder is an assistive navigation concept combining the Foresight sensor belt with a mobile app. The original project record describes Bluetooth communication, voice and vibration feedback, and cloud-supplied information about nearby places.<\/p>\n

The challenge<\/h2>\n

The project aimed to give people with visual impairments a hands-free way to receive navigation cues and interact with their surroundings. Its proposed approach combined a wearable sensor system with a phone interface rather than requiring the user to hold the device.<\/p>\n
